Sweet tea Facts
Wadmalaw Island, In the heart of South Carolina's Lowcountry sits the Charleston Tea Plantation near Summerville SC. Summerville is the birthplace of Sweet Tea. There are several festival events each year to celebrate this gentle little leaf. The tea plant landed in Summerville in the late 1700's by way of the Ashley River.
