Tommy Gunns American Barbeque

Glad we went to this little gem. Jo and I had the opportunity to take our good friend and hostess, Rose, to this iconic bbq place. We shared pulled pork, smoked wings, brisket and last but not least, there deep fried mac & cheese.

By far, the best bbq I had in Philly.
Had to try the brisket, mashed sweet potatoes, baked beans, and bread pudding. We felt guilty Aaron and Rose worked that day so we brought some home to them. Guess what new item is going to be offered in 2013 ?

Iron chef Morimoto is one of the original chefs on the circuit. Jo and I had ishi yaki bop. ( rice dish prepared at your table in hot river stone bowl with king yellowtail ).
Our second dish was duck curry udon. ( grilled duck breast, udon noodle, and cilantro )

Geno's Steaks 1219 South 9 th Street

Geno's Steaks was started by Joe Vento back in 1966. Word of caution, be prepared and know how to order. Geno's is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Firefly on Paradise 3900 Paradise Road.

The first restaurant stakeout was filmed here in Las Vegas at the Firefly. We had the paella for entree. ( saffron rice, clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari, chicken, Spanish chorizo sausage ) Of the tapas side, we enjoyed the stuffed dates. ( bacon-wrapped, smoked almond, red wine reduction, blue cheese ) It was almost as interesting as the paella in Barcelona.

We know his first major break was at Spago on the Sunset Strip in 1997. The Wolfgang Puck Companies encompasses over 20 fine dining Restaurants. We tried one of his wood fired oven pizzas,the Margherita, Mozzarella, San Marzano Tomatoes.Basil pizza.

We didn't eat here because Jo was concerned Gordon might be there and would make her do the dishes or mop the floor.

Whitner's bbq

Guy Fieri had a burnt end sandwich and black- eyed corn here in his last visit. He also had a smoked turkey sandwich. I had to follow suit and glad I did.

Glad to be back, last time we were here, we had the bully bbq combo. The chef asked us to try sliced beef on demand, rare. Great choice chef !!!
